The Voigtländer 12mm f/5.6 lens for the Sony E-mount appears to be finally shipping on the 7h of September. The Voigtländer 12mm is a Wide Heliar aspherical lens and has a maximum aperture of f/5.6. This is a full-frame lens and gives an ultra-wide focal length of 12mm on 35mm sensor powered cameras.
The lens construction includes a total of 12 elements arranged in 10 groups. The angle of view on a full frame camera is 121 ˚. The aperture diaphragm is composed of a total of 10 blades. Minimum focusing distance on the lens is 0.3m. Distortion on the Voigtländer 12mm f/5.6 is minimal despite the larger than usual angle of view.
