Fuji X-A3
Another big announcement for the day. The rumored Fuji X-A3 has been officially announced by the company. Also announced with it is the Fujinon XF 23mm f/2 RWR Asph lens. The press release states that the X-A3 has been designed perfectly for “self-portraits”. The rear LCD screen can tilt and turn 180 ˚ allowing you to make a perfect composition the way you would expect to if you were shooting with a smartphone. Except that the X-A3 is a far better camera than a smartphone.
The Fuji X-A3 incorporates a new ‘skin tone brightening’ feature that offers a three-step adjustment of skin tones for enhanced quality selfies. This is not all. Even the camera grip has been designed keeping in mind maximum convenience whether you are shooting normal or when shooting selfies. When shooting selfies the vertical command dial located immediately below the index finger works as the focusing and shutter release control.
The camera also has an Eye Detection AF feature that ensures that your subject’s eyes are in sharp focus. The X-A3 is built around a newly designed 24.2 MP APS-C sensor and the EXR processor II. Overall design is retro and eye-catchy and is aimed at a predominantly female audience.
The other features of the camera include full HD videos at 60 fps, a 77-point AF system, electronic shutter that can fire at a maximum speed of 1/32000 sec, 6 fps of continuous shooting speed, an extended ISO of 25600 and finally, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. The Fuji X-A3 has been priced at $599 on B&H but bundled with a XC 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II.
Fujinon XF 23mm f/2 RWR Asph lens
The other product announced with the Fuji X-A3 is the Fujinon XF 23mm f/2 RWR Asph lens. This is an X-mount lens designed for Fuji’s APS-C mirrorless camera systems. The 23mm focal length actually becomes a 35mm format equivalent of 35mm when mounted on an APS-C system camera. The maximum aperture of the lens is f/2. Aperture diaphragm is composed of 9 rounded aperture blades.
The lens construction includes a total of 10 elements arranged in 6 groups. This include two aspherical elements that suppresses aberrations. The lens has been coated with Super EBC coating to suppress flares and ghosting.
Shipping date of the Fuji X-A3 is slated for October 2 (subject to availability) on B&H. The lens is slated to be shipped out on September 29 (subject to availability). Price of the Fujinon XF 23mm f/2 RWR Asph is $449.
