It appears that the UK Nikon Store has quietly marked the AF Micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4D ED-IF lens as discontinued. There are a bunch of micro lenses currently available on the Nikon website, but none of them have a focal length of more than 100mm. Read more...

There is only one rule in advertising. It is not all right when you imply something in your marketing messages which you know to be incorrect. In other words, it is not OK to lie. This is something that the Chinese electronics giant Huawei learnt the hard way. Huawei is trying to promote its P9 smartphone. The P9 is arguably, one of the most anticipated phones to have been launched recently, because of its dual-camera system which was co-developed with Leica.
Both the cameras are 12 megapixel. However, while one shoots in color the other shoots in monochrome. Rumors about the up and coming Fujifilm X-T2 has been coming thick and fast. The new camera is supposed to be launched sometime this week (photorumors.com puts the date at July 7th). But we already have more detailed information about its specifications. Thanks to photorumors.com.
There appears to be a bunch of upgraded features as well as some which have been retained the same from the old camera. The camera is stated to be powered by a 24.3 megapixel CMOS sensor and Fuji’s trusted X Processor Pro image processing engine. While the old sensor was capable of shooting full HD videos the new sensor is slated to be capable of producing native 4K videos at 30 fps.

Imagine photography sans color. It is unthinkable. Ever since we started our journey in photography we have always shot in color. When I say we, I mean of course, photographers who had picked up a camera in the last couple of decades. If you have a grandfather who was a photography enthusiast back in his days, he would probably resent the fact that everything is so dominated by color these days. I know mine would, if he’d been alive. Can’t argue with that. He is coming from a school of thought that is fast becoming a rarity these days. It is unthinkable in the world of instant photo filters, Instagram, Facebook and the instant post-processing bliss known as filters, that black and white images could still wow you.
